We will march as a church at Pride again this year to show what a truly loving and inclusive Christianity looks like.
You are welcome to walk or ride in the truck. You can also volunteer at the festival “Flaming Baptist” booth Sat or Sun.
- To volunteer at the booth on Saturday 10/10 or Sunday 10/11, sign up for a shift here. We do this booth together with First Baptist Decatur and Oakhurst Baptist. The booth has a communal art project, Communion, and glitter blessings. You don’t need to prepare anything or know anything in advance. It’s enough to be a pro-LGBTQ follower of Jesus showing up at Pride.
- To march in the parade Oct 11 after service email colin.holtz@dhbc.org. The parade kicks off around 1230 and we usually get moving between 1 and 130p. It’s only about 2mi but they speed groups along so it can mean walking very fast. We have limited spots available in the truck. You can meet us at the staging location or attend worship and everyone can Uber over together. Wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks. Email colin.holtz@dhbc.org for more.
